Redshirted in 2006 at Weber State. In 2007, he completed 131-233 passes, and threw just nine interceptions, for 1,959 yards and 17 touchdowns. Had one of the best seasons in Big Sky history in 2008, compiling 4,477 yards passing, with 36 touchdowns in a 14-game season. Compiled a remarkable accuracy, completing 305-465 passes (.656) and was named Big Sky OPTY.
Tailed off some in 2009, going 289-454 for 3,326 yards and 30 touchdowns but threw 20 interceptions. Senior year continued the slide in production as he tallied 210 of 359 for 2512 yards, 15 TDs and 11 ints. 53 career interceptions is a big number.
Strengths: Scrambling thrower who is deadly when hot and when surrounded by talent. Can really heat up the scoreboard when he is right. Finds openings and runs for good yardage. Sets up pretty well and can throw well on the run. Average-to-above-average arm strength. Can make his own passing lanes with his feet. Can hit the dramatic deep ball. Has had some magical performances for the Wildcats over the years. Pretty tough. Very experienced. A little like former UH player, Timmy Chung, but not as good a leader.
Weaknesses: Sloppy with his mechanics and will also force the ball. Poor career TD-Int ratio. Gets moody and tries to do too much on his own. Not an elite runner or passer. Hot and cold passer who is an enigma at times. Has talent, but struggles to bottle and channel it. Not a great leader. Short, and will get a lot of balls batted.
Projection: Priority UDFA."
