Highpoints well and does a nice job fighting through contact in order to highpoint the play. However, is a linear athlete and has a tough time getting in and out of his breaks at top end speed. Routinely is forced to gear down and doesn't exhibit much of an explosive element to his game when trying to separate on sharply breaking routes.
Is easy to cover up and routinely is forced to make plays on the football with corners draped all over him.
Does a better job running vertical routes vs. a free release. Sets up corners well with a subtle shimmy and when not going at full speed can change directions. Again lacks much of a burst, but does a nice job getting his body between the corner and the ball and will snatch well off his frame.
Doesn't create a ton of separation for himself, but enough initially to gain a step and box out a defender. Isn't real explosive/shifty after the catch. Runs hard and will run to daylight, but isn't a huge threat after the catch.
Lacks much shimmy to his game and I don't see him as a guy who is going to really threaten defenders off the line vs. press coverage. Doesn't have the initial burst/quickness to quickly gain a step and won't accelerate well.
However, does disguise his routes well once he begins to stem and has the body control to routinely lower his pad level and work the comeback, cutting down the angle while he works well back toward the football. Will get after it in the run game, showcases the willingness to crack back inside and works hard to stick on the edge.
Impression: A nice sized kid who can go get the football, but not dynamic enough to routinely separate in the NFL, even as a vertical route runner."
