Isn't real explosive off the snap and lacks great speed down the field, but knows how to create a step when corners want to be physical and try to get into his frame. Exhibits a good set of hands and does a nice job working himself free and tracking the football over his shoulder.
Isn't the sharpest of route runners and has a tendency to start to drift into his breaks and advertise his routes, especially in the intermediate pass game. Lacks the skill set needed to create on the outside at the next level.
Impression: A slot guy only with some short-area quickness, but not enough for me to take a shot on as a draft pick. Will have a tough time making an NFL roster, but should be able to get himself into training camp."
Positive: Consistent possession receiver who also helps out as a return specialist. Uses his hands to get separation off the line of scrimmage, displays good focus, and is a solid downfield receiver. Extends his hands to make the reception away from his frame and quickly transitions from making the reception to running after the catch. Possesses strong hands and pulls the ball from the air.
Negative: Choppy route-running and slows into breaks. One-speed receiver who does not get separation downfield from defenders.
Analysis: Bogan was mildly productive during his early career at South Florida before elevating his game as a senior. He flashes enough skill to be brought into camp this summer and could end up as a fifth receiver on a roster if he performs on special teams."
In 2007 at USF he put up a line of 12-190-1.
In 2008, he improved those numbers to: 26 receptions for 354 yards and one touchdown.
In 2009, he tallied 22-305-4.
As a senior this past season he managed: 47-685-6.
Strengths: Has gotten better every year and been fairly effective with a less-than-stellar passer at QB. Has played S in the past, and could fill in there in a pinch. Has some deep, downfield ability and a nice YPC. Knows how to use the sidelines. Pretty clean catcher. Deked DBs into PI calls. Nice build, with big thighs, and should be able to remain durable at the next level. Double moves well. Will come back and block for team mates.
Weaknesses: Not overly aggressive when he's not getting the ball. Not always that quick of the LOS and has built-up speed. Doesn't give great effort consistently as a blocker. Probably maxed out. Will probably never be anybody's #1.
Projection: Slightly under-rated guy who should hear his name called at the tail end of the 2011 NFL Draft."
