Has the flexibility to keep his base under him, understands his depth and doesn't waste much motion when asked to attack the throw in front of him, generating good burst towards the football. Looks comfortable feeling routes develop around him and consistently gets good jumps on the throw in zone coverage. A competitor vs. the pass who wants to challenge the best competition even if it doesn't favor his skill set or what he does best.
However, isn't real physical in any area of the game. He's undersized and needs to continue to add more strength to his game. Doesn't tackle with any consistency in the run game. Is technically raw with his footwork in man coverage — off and tight — and doesn't exhibit the balance or pop to consistently re-route receivers as a press corner. Has a tendency to get upright and leggy when asked to turn and run and takes a bit to get back up to full speed.
Impression: An undersized corner who loves to compete, but looks more like an off/zone corner only. Is still raw when asked to turn and run, but is very effective when asked to click and close and should be able to make a roster."
Positive: Explosive athlete that impacts games in a variety of ways. Quick flipping his hips at cornerback, displays a nice break to the throw and fights hard to defend the pass. Terrific break to the throw and constantly getting a hand in to deflect passes. Displays solid footwork in every direction, has a burst of speed, and flashes on the scene. Occasionally lined up in the backfield and elusive carrying the ball. Consistently breaks games open with large returns.
Negative: Solid ball skills yet needs work at the cornerback position. Does not have great hands.
Analysis: Rogers is an incredibly athletic prospect who comes with a lot of upside. He has the ability to immediately impact a team at the next level as a return specialist while also being used in dime packages."
Negatives: Is a little too thin for his tall frame, needs to add some extra bulk to hang with bigger receivers and blockers in the NFL... Has difficulty disengaging from some blocks, is out-muscled a little too regularly... Is less able in man coverage than in zone coverage, does not looks as comfortable on an island as he does when sitting in a zone and reading the quarterback... Change-of-direction skills and explosiveness are adequate at best, needs to work on coming hard out of the break and taking a good first step to the ball."
Weaknesses: Small, and light. Will be manhandled by big receivers and as a defender, is probably never going to be more than a nickle/slot defender. Will tackle too high and miss tackles. Would be abused in red zone and and jump ball situation. Not really an asset in the run game.
Projection: 7th-rounder or priority UDFA."
