Today's Strong Safety needs to be a true Hybrid ~ precisely like the Gryphons of The Yankee 245.
The most compelling Attributes of a Strong Safety are, in my view, and in no particular order:
Processing Speed ~ The ability to Rapidly Read & React to the Play as it develops
Diagnostic Acuity ~ The ability to do so effectively and with Precision
Range ~ Lateral Velocity & DownHill Burst
Verticity ~ Turn & Burn Acuity ~ Flip of the Hip to Rotate & Run with Receivers
Combat ~ The ability to work through Traffic
Tackling ~ Consistency & Precision
Pass Defense ~ Williams commands outstanding Verticity to Turn & Burn in Slot Coverage. That alone should put'm on everyone's Radar, but his tremendous Processing Speed, evident in how quickly and consistently he gets DownField to stop Runs, makes him an highly valuable Hybrid in the 21st Century's Game.
How such an invaluable Hybrid can be projected for the 3rd Day ~ if that ~ is beyond me.
Presumably, it's my own foolishness, vastly overrating this guy.
If so, you know what? I can live with that!!
